Summary
This is a leadership role within a newly formed team for one of our affiliated companies in Taiwan. The position focuses on building and leading the finance function from the ground up, ensuring robust financial processes, regulatory compliance, and alignment with both local and global standards. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in driving financial performance, optimizing operations, and supporting the organization’s growth through strategic financial expertise.
Responsibilities
- Entity Set-Up and Process Establishment
– Support the preparation and execution of the entity establishment process.
– Collaborate with regional and global teams to design and implement financial processes for the new entity from the ground up.
– Participate in the development and deployment of operational processes and systems.
- Financial Operations and Compliance
– Lead the finance accounting, taxation, treasury, and reporting functions, ensuring compliance with both local and group standards.
– Implement timely and accurate accounting practices, delivering reports to HQ and local authorities.
– Ensure full tax compliance while driving tax optimization strategies; maintain strong connections with local tax authorities and stay updated on regulatory changes.
– Manage cash flow planning and transparency, working closely with regional finance and global treasury teams.
– Promote and implement internal controls, conduct risk assessments, and review the effectiveness of control activities and processes.
- Team Building and Leadership
– Build and develop the finance team, with a primary focus on accounting functions.
– Coach, align, and motivate the team to achieve high performance and operational excellence.
– Drive collaboration across cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA certification preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience in corporate finance, with a minimum of 3 years in leadership roles, preferably within the retail or sports industry and in a publicly listed company. Start-up experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to evaluate financial performance, optimize costs, and support business growth.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coach and develop teams effectively.
- Experience in managing complex, cross-functional initiatives with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms and influence leadership decisions at all levels.
