- Own product mechanical architecture, including component design, mechanism development, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
- Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, specifications, and related design documentation.
- Conduct DFM, DFA, and DFMEA reviews to optimize product quality, manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
- Support engineering builds (EVT, DVT, PVT) and resolve mechanical issues throughout validation and production.
- Collaborate closely with Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, Firmware, Quality, and Program Management teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners on tooling development, mold qualification, process validation, and production ramp-up.
- Drive continuous improvements in product structure, mechanical performance, manufacturing processes, and overall user experience.
Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development for consumer electronics or related industries.
- Strong experience with 3D CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of plastic injection molding, metal stamping, die-casting, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience conducting DFM, DFA, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and DFMEA analyses.
- Hands-on experience supporting products through EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production.
- Familiarity with tooling development, mold qualification, supplier management, and manufacturing quality control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently drive engineering solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with global cross-functional teams.
