Molding Principal Engineer

Oversee and cultivate a team of specialists to support the production of injection-molded components for our autoinjector systems.
Analyze existing practices and develop innovative scientific molding processes and methodologies, drawing on extensive processing experience, plastics engineering principles, and materials science knowledge. Encourage the use of new technologies and industry-leading trends, providing top-tier technical expertise.
Take charge of engineering responsibilities for molds, component manufacturing, and related processes within our production system.
Work closely with Plant/Production managers, toolmakers, maintenance teams, quality assurance, and process development to improve performance, processes, and troubleshoot issues.
Formulate and implement improvement plans and requirements for capacity expansion and future mold generations and production setups.
Lead initiatives for improvement programs and capacity expansion in injection molding.
Ensure manufacturing acceptance of new molds in regular production.
Direct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) efforts and establish manufacturing requirements for new products and product care initiatives.

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field, or equivalent education/experience.
At least 10 years of relevant industry experience with practical experience in multi-cavity hot runner injection molding systems.
Profound understanding of mold and machine setup, molding machine operation, process optimization, and mold design/function.
Extensive hands-on experience with auxiliary equipment (e.g., hot runners, controllers, polymer dryers, thermolators, mold heaters, robot/take-out systems).
Advanced knowledge of engineering resin characteristics and validation of new polymer materials and molding processes for medical-grade polymers.
Proficiency in statistical analysis, including an understanding of scientific molding processes, mold-machine-material-process interactions, Design of Experiments (DoE), and mold qualification protocols.
Advanced knowledge of common problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies.
Proven experience in leading and developing a team of highly specialized experts, with management experience.
Advanced expertise in process development, verification, and validation.

Strong intercultural and interdisciplinary communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbal and written).
