Summary
In this role, you will serve as the primary interface for all quality-related aspects between the product development engineering teams and our manufacturing value-added partners. You will lead the implementation of quality requirements and manufacturing processes, ensuring that manufactured products align with design intent.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the comprehensive manufacturing quality management program, including process and SIP reviews for IQC, IPQC, OQC, and FAI, as well as the development of processes and SIPs for GRR, OBA, and ORT. Ensure quality validations for procedures and SOPs related to SMT, DIP, and FATP are executed effectively.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing partners, Supply Chain Management, and Product Development Engineering teams to develop product-specific inspection, monitoring, and verification procedures and processes.
- Evaluate SCARs from component suppliers and 8D reports from manufacturing partners. Implement quality training programs and additional requirements based on 8D findings, while tracking SCARs and 8D actions to drive continuous improvement in component and manufacturing quality.
- Work with Product Managers to review customer RMA claims, conduct root cause analyses with manufacturing partners, and implement corrective actions as part of an overarching quality improvement plan.
- Partner with Manufacturing Test Engineers and Production Engineers to validate and maintain a consistent manufacturing environment and production setup across all sites, adhering to uniform quality standards.
- Collaborate with Production Engineers and manufacturing partners to monitor ongoing production quality and drive continuous improvements in product assembly, test setups, and testing environments.
- Support Production Engineers in simplifying, optimizing, and standardizing manufacturing processes to achieve stable production lines with high-quality yields.
- Participate in strategic sourcing discussions, component sourcing, and the selection of manufacturing partners, ensuring a focus on component reliability and manufacturing quality.
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering field, with a proven track record of relevant experience.
- Over 10 years of hands-on manufacturing quality experience in high-volume production of consumer and commercial electronic products.
- At least 5 years of quality management experience specifically in camera-related products.
- Professional proficiency in written, verbal, and presentation skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel across Asia and the US as needed.
- Demonstrated expertise in addressing quality issues related to materials, assembly, and testing of consumer and commercial electronic products, from early prototype builds to mass production.
- Proven engineering capabilities in diagnosing and resolving production and product quality issues with effective solutions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing requirements, particularly for camera products, wireless communication devices, and gateway/bridge products.
- General understanding of potential quality challenges associated with the design of assembly jigs and testing fixtures for electronic products.
- Proficient in tools such as Excel and PowerPoint for clear and effective communication with stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 standards.
