The Field Application Engineer (FAE) will provide expert technical support to help customers successfully integrate advanced audio IC solutions into PC and consumer systems. This role will collaborate closely with customer engineering teams to ensure smooth hardware and acoustic integration, driving successful design-ins and long-term partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to key customers remotely and onsite to win and maintain design accounts.
- Assist during the design-in phase by resolving acoustic and electrical challenges, reviewing schematics/layouts, and performing hardware debugging.
- Support audio system design, including music playback and voice tuning.
- Perform hardware evaluation and testing using tools such as Audio Precision analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal design and applications teams to deliver high-quality customer solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Strong hands-on experience with audio measurement tools (Audio Precision, oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Project experience in:
- Smart Amplifiers, Speaker Protection, and music playback tuning.
- HDA CODEC design or integration.
- Skilled in loudspeaker characterization and digital audio signal processing (EQ, filtering, noise/echo cancellation).
- Familiar with board-level design and analog/mixed-signal debugging.
- Capable of performing schematic and layout reviews with commercial CAD tools.
- Excellent communication skills in Mandarin and English.
- Understanding of audio signal processing algorithms is a plus.
- Willingness to travel and provide onsite customer support.
