Job Summary
The RF Engineering Manager will lead antenna and RF engineering activities across multiple wireless product platforms.
This role combines deep RF/antenna technical expertise with people leadership and customer-facing responsibility, ensuring antenna solutions meet performance, regulatory, cost, and manufacturability targets.
You will manage RF engineers, drive antenna architecture decisions, and act as a key technical interface with global customers, ODMs, and internal cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage RF / antenna engineering teams, including technical direction, resource planning, and talent development
- Define antenna and RF system architecture for wireless products (cellular, Wi-Fi, GNSS, BT, sub-6GHz, etc.)
- Oversee antenna design, simulation, tuning, and validation from concept through mass production
- Review and approve RF test plans, OTA performance, and regulatory compliance strategies
- Drive RF performance optimization considering industrial design, mechanical constraints, and system-level trade-offs
- Serve as primary technical interface for customers on antenna and RF topics
- Support customer engagements including technical reviews, issue resolution, and design recommendations
- Collaborate closely with ME, ID, EE, FW, SI/PI, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful integration
- Lead root cause analysis for RF performance issues and guide corrective actions
- Establish RF design guidelines, best practices, and reusable antenna platforms
- Monitor wireless technology trends, standards evolution, and competitive benchmarks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in RF and antenna engineering for wireless products
- Proven experience leading RF or antenna engineering teams
- Strong background in antenna theory, RF system design, and wireless standards
- Hands-on experience with antenna simulation tools (HFSS, CST, ADS, or equivalent)
- Experience with RF measurement and validation (VNA, spectrum analyzer, anechoic chamber, OTA testing)
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements (FCC, CE, PTCRB, GCF, etc.)
- Experience supporting customer projects and interacting with global engineering teams
- Strong communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus
Qualifications
- Experience with compact antenna design for space-constrained products
- Background in IoT, automotive, wearables, or industrial wireless products
- Experience working with ODM / EMS partners
- Exposure to mmWave or advanced MIMO antenna systems
- Prior experience in a customer-facing RF or FAE leadership role
