Summary
The VP of Manufacturing Engineering will lead all manufacturing engineering functions for a leading fabless semiconductor company specializing in advanced ASIC/SoC design and production. This executive role drives end-to-end production readiness, yield optimization, cost reduction, and operational excellence for cutting-edge chips, targeting AI, HPC, and high-performance computing applications. The leader will ensure seamless transition from design to mass production while delivering world-class quality, reliability, and time-to-market.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop over 60+ Manufacturing Engineering organization, including Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Advanced Packaging, Failure Analysis, and Yield Enhancement teams.
- Define and execute long-term manufacturing strategy aligned with advanced process nodes, materials innovation, and customer-specific requirements.
- Drive aggressive yield ramp-up, defect reduction, and cost optimization across wafer sort, final test, assembly, and advanced packaging technologies (CoWoS, InFO, 2.5D/3D).
- Partner closely with internal design teams, foundry partners (leading global foundries), OSAT vendors, and key customers to resolve complex manufacturing issues and achieve first-time-right production.
- Establish and track critical performance metrics (yield, CPK, DPPM, cycle time, cost per unit) and lead continuous improvement initiatives (SPC, DOE, Six Sigma methodologies).
- Manage department budget, resource planning, and talent development to support rapid business growth.
- Ensure full compliance with industry quality standards (ISO/TS16949, IATF), reliability requirements, and customer qualification processes.
- Represent Manufacturing Engineering in executive strategy sessions, customer reviews, and cross-functional programs.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in semiconductor, with senior leadership roles in fabless, foundry, or OSAT environments.
- Proven success leading large teams in ASIC/SoC backend operations, with strong track record in yield improvement and production scaling.
- Extensive experience with advanced nodes and collaboration with leading foundries.
- Mandarin and English fluency required
