Job Summary
The Opto-Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of camera modules, focusing on the integration of optical and mechanical systems to ensure optimal image quality and product performance.
This role requires strong experience in Opto-ME design, IR system optimization, and camera module development, along with hands-on involvement in production support and failure analysis.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop opto-mechanical structures for camera modules, including sensor boards, IR boards, and lens modules
- Evaluate and mitigate risks impacting image quality, including optical alignment, tolerance, and mechanical design factors
- Perform tolerance analysis and DFM, ensuring manufacturability and product reliability
- Conduct IR LED uniformity simulation and optimization, including placement and structural design impact
- Define and validate solutions to improve IR performance and imaging consistency
- Support factory troubleshooting, including pre-focus / focus failure analysis (FA)
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including EE, optical, and manufacturing to ensure product quality
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in opto-mechanical or camera module design
- Hands-on experience with IP camera or imaging-related products
- Strong understanding of optical-mechanical interaction and image quality drivers
- Experience in tolerance analysis, DFM, and design validation
- Experience supporting production issues and failure analysis
- Good communication skills and teamwork ability
- Working-level English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in IR system design or IR LED optimization
- Experience with camera components such as lens modules, sensors, IR modules
- Familiar with imaging-related issues such as focus, alignment, and optical defects
- Experience working in ODM/OEM manufacturing environments
