Automation Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Summary
This role is responsible for non-standard automation equipment mechanical development, including mechanism design, fixture design, equipment integration, and manufacturing support.
The engineer will work closely with automation, controls, and manufacturing teams to deliver customized smart factory equipment solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design automation equipment mechanisms, fixtures, tooling, and mechanical modules
- Develop customized automation solutions based on production requirements
- Conduct design reviews and risk assessments for automation systems
- Support prototype assembly, debugging, and on-site issue resolution
- Optimize equipment structure and manufacturability
- Prepare technical documentation and engineering drawings
- Collaborate with controls and process engineering teams for system integration
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience in automation equipment mechanical design
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD
- Familiar with DFM/DFA concepts and machine assembly processes
- Strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills
- Able to support travel for equipment installation or customer support
