Company Overview
Our client is a fast-growing US semiconductor company developing advanced connectivity solutions for AI infrastructure and data centers.
Its technologies support next-generation AI servers, GPU platforms, storage, and networking systems through high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, NVLink, and UALink. As product volumes continue to scale globally, the company is expanding its Asia manufacturing engineering organization to strengthen high-volume production, product quality, and OSAT execution.
Job Summary
The Lead HVM Product Engineer will own engineering support for semiconductor products after they transition into High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) at Asia-based OSAT partners.
This role is responsible for maintaining stable production, yield, quality, test efficiency, and on-time customer shipments throughout the product lifecycle.
You will work closely with OSAT partners, NPI Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Validation, Quality, and internal manufacturing teams to identify production issues, optimize ATE test programs, analyze yield excursions, and drive corrective actions.
The ideal candidate combines strong semiconductor product engineering fundamentals with hands-on Advantest V93000 ATE, post-silicon debugging, qualification, and high-speed SerDes product experience.
Responsibilities
- Own semiconductor products after transition from NPI into High Volume Manufacturing.
- Partner closely with Asia OSATs to maintain stable manufacturing, product quality, yield, and shipment performance.
- Monitor wafer-sort and final-test yield trends and identify abnormal production behavior.
- Analyze yield excursions and production issues across DUT, test hardware, ATE test program, package, and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain and optimize Advantest V93000 test programs for wafer sort and final test.
- Drive ATE test-time reduction, test-limit optimization, and manufacturing efficiency improvements.
- Roll out new or updated production test programs using consistent BKM and change-control processes.
- Perform product and package qualification according to JEDEC requirements.
- Support failure disposition, qualification analysis, reliability assessment, and FIT-rate calculation.
- Conduct detailed statistical analysis using JMP, Spotfire, or equivalent data-analysis tools.
- Work with Test Engineering, Product Engineering, Validation, Quality, and OSAT teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Support silicon validation teams to ensure device performance meets production requirements.
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for device-quality and manufacturing issues.
- Ensure continuous supply of high-quality products and support on-time customer shipments throughout the product lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of post-silicon Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Validation, or related semiconductor experience.
- Experience supporting high-speed transceiver or other complex mixed-signal semiconductor products.
- Proven experience supporting semiconductor products in High Volume Manufacturing through OSAT partners.
- Hands-on experience with Advantest V93000 ATE.
- Experience modifying or maintaining ATE test programs for wafer sort and final test.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor test fundamentals, test hardware, test programs, and DUT behavior.
- Solid digital and analog circuit-level understanding.
- Experience with product and package qualification.
- Familiarity with JEDEC qualification standards.
- Experience with failure disposition, reliability analysis, and FIT-rate calculation.
- Strong yield and statistical-data analysis capability using JMP, Spotfire, or equivalent tools.
- Experience completing at least one full semiconductor product lifecycle from development through production.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with semiconductor OSAT partners in Taiwan or Asia.
- Experience with high-speed SerDes products using NRZ or PAM4 signaling.
- Familiarity with PCIe Gen3 or above.
- Familiarity with Ethernet 25G or above.
- Experience with DDR4, DDR5, LPDDR4, or LPDDR5 interfaces.
- Experience collaborating with silicon-validation teams.
- Firmware development experience in C/C++.
- Python or other scripting experience for test automation and data analysis.
- Experience with ATE correlation, guard-band analysis, test-limit optimization, and test-time reduction.
- Experience driving yield improvement, excursion management, and production issue resolution.
