Summary
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead Taiwan manufacturing operations, with full ownership of factory execution and operational performance.
This role is responsible for driving manufacturing strategy across capacity, efficiency, quality, cost, and delivery, while advancing automation and modern manufacturing practices.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position that works closely with U.S. and Asia-based cross-functional teams and plays a critical role in aligning site execution with corporate objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute site-level manufacturing strategy to achieve targets in efficiency, cost, quality, yield, and delivery
- Own overall factory operations, including capacity planning, productivity improvement, and operational excellence initiatives
- Manage site budgets and track performance against financial and operational commitments
- Partner closely with engineering, planning, procurement, quality, accounting, HR, and IT to align factory execution with business priorities
- Analyze operational data to identify improvement opportunities and drive structured problem-solving across functions
- Champion cost reduction initiatives through process optimization while preserving product form, fit, function, and quality
- Oversee development and maintenance of manufacturing processes, work instructions, control plans, and continuous improvement programs
- Drive yield improvement and operational excellence initiatives to enhance factory capability
- Implement SMART manufacturing best practices, including Lean, Six Sigma / TQM, ISO standards, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies
- Lead vendor, landlord, and third-party partner negotiations to support facility and capability improvements
- Maintain strong relationships with FTZ authorities and manpower recruitment partners
- Establish clear KPI dashboards and reporting mechanisms to support data-driven decision-making for corporate stakeholders
- Build strong internal and external partnerships to ensure smooth execution of manufacturing and operational plans
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Operations, or a related field
- 10–20 years of experience in manufacturing or operations, including 5–10 years in senior leadership roles
- Solid experience leading factory operations with ownership of performance, cost, quality, and delivery
- Strong ability to translate business strategy into executable operational plans
- Hands-on leadership style with strong attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and people leadership skills
- Strong English communication skills, capable of engaging effectively from executive leadership to shop-floor teams
- Proven ability to navigate cultural differences and align HQ and local operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; experience with ERP / MES systems (e.g., Oracle) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus
- Based in Taoyuan or the Greater Taipei area
