Summary
The Liquid Cooling Manager will lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced liquid cooling solutions for high-performance electronics, data centers, EV systems, and industrial applications. This role combines deep thermal engineering expertise with strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills to deliver cutting-edge, efficient, and scalable cooling technologies.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute liquid cooling strategies across multiple application domains, including servers, AI computing, and electric vehicles.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers specializing in thermal design, fluid dynamics, and heat exchange technologies.
- Oversee the design, testing, and optimization of liquid cooling modules (cold plates, pumps, heat exchangers, manifolds, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Manufacturing, and Sales to ensure seamless product integration and manufacturability.
- Perform thermal simulations and CFD analyses, and supervise prototype testing for validation and optimization.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and technical documentation.
- Research and implement new cooling materials and technologies to enhance efficiency and system reliability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
- Engage with customers, providing technical guidance and customization support for tailored cooling solutions.
- Monitor market trends and competitive technologies to drive innovation in thermal management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in thermal management or liquid cooling system design.
- In-depth understanding of direct-to-chip, immersion, cold plate, heat exchanger, pump, and manifold technologies.
- Proficient in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and CFD-based thermal design.
Proven track record in leading engineering teams and cross-functional projects.
- Experience with data center, EV battery, or HPC cooling solutions is a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of cooling systems.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
Proficiency with thermal simulation tools (ANSYS, FloTHERM, COMSOL) and 3D CAD platforms.
Preferred Skills
- Customer-facing experience in Field Applications, Technical Consulting, or Application Engineering.
- Familiarity with two-phase, immersion, or microchannel cooling technologies.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes for cooling components.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment while managing diverse technical teams.
