As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing key mechanical systems and equipment across the desalination facility. Your duties will include ensuring operational reliability, executing scheduled maintenance, and supporting multidisciplinary teams including electrical and instrumentation.
Responsibilities
- Execute detailed mechanical maintenance tasks in accordance with plant procedures
- Diagnose equipment faults and carry out timely repair and reassembly of components (e.g., pumps, motors, piping, filters)
- Perform workshop-based fabrication or part preparation as needed
- Support equipment installation and participate in corrective maintenance tasks
- Collaborate closely with other technical teams to ensure plant performance and uptime
- Maintain accurate records aligned with plant QA and safety protocols
- Standby/on-call duty is required
- Must be available to attend emergency breakdowns or urgent repairs at any time
- Adherence to all plant safety, quality, and reporting procedures is mandatory
Requirements
- Minimum education: Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical field
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance or plant operations
- Background in electrical or instrumentation systems is a strong advantage
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a high-compliance industrial environment
