Summary
The R&D Manager will lead the company’s overall research and development strategy, driving product innovation, new product introduction, and technology advancement to strengthen product competitiveness and meet business growth targets. This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on leadership to align R&D initiatives with market and customer demands while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Technology & Product Strategy
o Define mid- to long-term R&D strategies and product roadmaps in collaboration with business, manufacturing, and marketing teams.
o Monitor industry and technology trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and new product directions.
- Project Management & Development Oversight
o Plan, manage, and supervise new product development in terms of progress, cost, and quality.
o Establish and optimize R&D processes, including design review, prototype validation, and mass production readiness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
o Partner with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and sales teams to ensure smooth product transition from concept to market.
o Adjust designs and features based on customer feedback and market changes.
- Team Leadership & Talent Development
o Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary R&D team, fostering innovation and knowledge sharing.
o Promote technical excellence and develop key engineering talents.
- Cost & Risk Management
o Manage R&D budgets and resource allocation efficiently.
o Conduct technical feasibility assessments, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
- 10+ years of experience in product design, R&D management, or engineering leadership.
- Strong understanding of connector or electromechanical product development processes from concept to mass production.
- Proven experience in cross-departmental coordination, project management, and technical problem-solving.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills; capable of motivating and developing engineering teams.
- Familiar with global market product development and international customer collaboration.
- Proficient in OrCAD or similar design tools.
- Intermediate English proficiency for technical communication.
