Job Summary
The RF Hardware Engineer will be responsible for RF system validation, wireless performance evaluation, and RF-related engineering reviews for connected IoT and smart security products.
This role focuses heavily on RF test planning, TRP/TIS validation review, ODM technical management, and third-party lab coordination to ensure products meet wireless performance and certification requirements.
The engineer will work closely with U.S.-based engineering teams, ODM partners, and external test laboratories, requiring strong technical ownership, hands-on RF validation capability, and excellent English communication skills in a global development environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and manage RF validation activities for wireless IoT and smart security products
- Define RF test plans, validation methodology, and performance criteria for product development and mass production
- Independently execute and analyze RF measurements and wireless performance testing
- Review TRP / TIS test results and coordinate with ODMs and third-party certification laboratories
- Support RF debugging, issue analysis, and performance optimization during EVT / DVT / PVT stages
- Collaborate with EE, antenna, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams throughout product development
- Evaluate RF-related risks and provide recommendations for design improvements
- Support regulatory and certification activities including FCC / CE wireless requirements
- Drive technical discussions with ODM partners and global engineering teams to ensure project execution and product quality
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in RF hardware engineering or wireless product development
- Strong hands-on experience with RF validation and wireless performance testing
- Solid understanding of TRP / TIS testing methodologies and OTA validation processes
- Experience defining RF test plans and independently executing RF-related measurements
- Familiarity with wireless technologies such as WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Z-Wave, LTE, or NFC
- Good understanding of hardware development flow including EVT / DVT / PVT and NPI processes
- Experience working with ODM partners and third-party RF certification labs
- Strong debugging and problem-solving capability for RF performance issues
- Fluent English communication skills with the ability to work directly with native English-speaking teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with smart cameras, IoT devices, or wireless consumer electronics products
- Familiarity with antenna integration and RF system-level optimization
- Experience supporting FCC / CE wireless certifications
- Experience working in global cross-functional engineering environments
- Knowledge of RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and OTA chambers
