Job Summary
This role focuses on mechanical design and product development for system-level hardware products.
You will be responsible for mechanical architecture, structural design, prototype validation, and mass production support, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product performance, manufacturability, and quality.
The position is suitable for a senior individual contributor who enjoys hands-on engineering while also mentoring junior engineers and influencing development processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical design and structural analysis for products, modules, and assemblies, including part, module, and system-level drawings.
- Develop innovative mechanical concepts and propose effective technical solutions to meet product requirements.
- Build prototypes and conduct verification and validation testing; analyze test results and recommend design improvements.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and product specifications, and provide technical clarification to stakeholders.
- Execute project design tasks according to product schedules, coordinating closely with internal teams and related departments.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve production issues and support design transfer to mass production.
- Provide technical support during NPI, trial builds, and production ramp-up, including process improvement suggestions when needed.
- Continuously propose enhancements to product development workflows and engineering practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to new team members.
Requirements
- Associate degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 1-8 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (Pro/ENGINEER / Creo preferred).
- Solid experience in mechanical product design, structural evaluation, and drawing release.
- Understanding of materials selection, manufacturing processes, and validation methodologies.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple engineering tasks in parallel.
- Intermediate English proficiency for technical communication and documentation.
Qualifications
- Experience with system-level products such as server chassis, industrial enclosures, or enterprise hardware.
- Familiarity with prototype validation, design for manufacturing (DFM), and production issue resolution.
- Prior experience mentoring engineers or acting as a technical lead on projects.
