Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the development of high-reliability industrial motherboards based on Intel x86, AMD, and ARM platforms.
This is a hands-on engineering role with strong technical ownership across motherboard architecture, schematic design, PCB layout, board bring-up, hardware validation, and manufacturing integration.
You will independently manage motherboard development projects, collaborate with global engineering teams, and work with manufacturing partners to ensure product quality, reliability, and production readiness.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop industrial motherboards based on Intel x86, AMD, and ARM architectures, including schematic design and PCB layout.
- Own hardware development from system requirements and component selection through prototype, board bring-up, validation, and production.
- Perform electrical measurements, hardware debugging, functional verification, and root-cause analysis.
- Manage technical execution, engineering schedules, design reviews, and continuous product improvements.
- Collaborate with PCB Layout Engineers to ensure board designs meet electrical performance, signal integrity, and manufacturability requirements.
- Work with Supply Chain and Contract Manufacturers on prototype builds, DFM reviews, and manufacturing issue resolution.
- Develop hardware test specifications, validation plans, and test scripts in collaboration with engineering teams and manufacturing partners.
- Create and maintain block diagrams, schematics, BOMs, engineering documentation, and test reports.
- Collaborate with Product Management and cross-functional teams to evaluate new technologies, components, and product architectures.
- Mentor Electrical Engineers and PCB Layout Designers, providing technical guidance and design expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in hardware circuit design and motherboard development.
- Strong experience designing Intel x86, AMD, or ARM-based motherboards.
- Hands-on experience with schematic design, PCB development, and hardware validation.
- Strong understanding of digital, analog, and power circuit design.
- Experience with high-speed hardware interfaces and complex multilayer PCB designs.
- Proven experience in board bring-up, electrical measurements, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Ability to independently manage hardware design projects and resolve complex engineering issues.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Professional English communication skills for collaboration with international engineering teams.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced product-development environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing industrial PCs, embedded computers, edge computing systems, or rugged computing platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Intel or AMD x86 motherboard architectures.
- Familiarity with ARM-based SoC hardware platforms.
- Experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, DDR4 / DDR5, USB 3.x, SATA, Ethernet, or DisplayPort.
- Understanding of Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), and high-speed PCB layout constraints.
- Experience designing power architectures, DC/DC converters, voltage regulators, and power sequencing circuits.
- Familiarity with BIOS / UEFI, embedded firmware, and system-level hardware integration.
- Experience using schematic and PCB design tools such as OrCAD, Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, or equivalent.
- Experience developing hardware products through EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production.
- Experience with DFM, DFT, regulatory compliance, and hardware reliability testing.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or acting as a technical lead.
