Company Overview
Our client is a global provider of advanced thermal solutions for notebook computers and high-performance consumer electronics.
The company focuses on vapor chamber, heat pipe, and thermal module technologies widely adopted in gaming notebooks, thin-and-light laptops, and performance-oriented mobile platforms.
With close collaboration across global OEM customers and manufacturing partners, the R&D team plays a critical role in delivering scalable, production-ready cooling solutions from concept to mass production.
Summary
The Notebook Vapor Chamber Manager is responsible for leading the design and development of vapor chamber–based thermal solutions for gaming and high-performance notebook platforms.
This role combines hands-on thermal engineering, customer technical engagement, and project ownership across prototype, validation, and mass production stages.
Responsibilities
- Lead vapor chamber and thermal module design based on notebook platform thermal requirements (CPU, GPU-in-package, SoC, VRM, chassis constraints).
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to evaluate initial concepts and conduct feasibility and risk assessments.
- Own prototype development including sample build coordination, assembly, thermal testing, and performance analysis.
- Perform thermal simulation and validation using CFD tools to optimize cooling efficiency within notebook form-factor constraints.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams on tooling, pilot builds, and ramp-up to mass production.
- Act as a key technical interface for customer discussions related to notebook thermal design and performance tuning.
- Drive continuous improvement in thermal performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
- Support knowledge sharing and technical mentoring within the thermal engineering team (scope based on seniority).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Solid experience in thermal design for notebook or compact electronic systems.
- Hands-on experience with vapor chamber or advanced heat spreading solutions for mobile platforms.
- Proficient in 2D / 3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, Pro/E, SolidWorks).
- Familiar with CFD simulation tools such as FloTHERM, ANSYS Fluent, or SolidWorks Simulation.
- Experience supporting prototype builds, validation testing, and customer technical reviews.
- Willingness to support overseas collaboration and occasional business travel.
- English proficiency sufficient for technical communication.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with gaming notebooks, thin-and-light laptops, or high-TDP mobile platforms.
- Experience managing projects from concept → sample → pilot → mass production.
- Familiarity with notebook mechanical constraints, chassis airflow, and system-level thermal trade-offs.
- Experience in customer-facing R&D or technical leadership roles.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and expertise.
- Performance-based incentives and project-related rewards.
- Comprehensive insurance and statutory benefits.
- Exposure to global notebook OEM customers and next-generation mobile platforms.
- Clear career path toward Thermal R&D Manager or Principal Thermal Expert roles.
