Job Overview
The Haptics Tuning Engineer will play a critical role in enabling customer design wins by optimizing haptic performance in end products such as laptops and mobile devices.
This role blends signal processing, physics understanding, customer interaction, and hands-on lab validation. You will work closely with global application, firmware, and software teams to tune haptic systems, debug customer issues, and help define next-generation tuning tools and algorithms.
This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy both deep technical tuning work and direct customer-facing engagement.
Responsibilities
- Tune haptic amplifier algorithms to optimize force feedback, vibration clarity, and user experience in end products
- Support customer design-in activities by developing customized demos and validating performance metrics
- Provide hands-on technical support, including debugging hardware, firmware, and signal-related issues
- Quantify haptic performance using lab equipment and structured measurement methodologies
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to define and validate new firmware features and tuning tools
- Develop promotional demo systems to showcase new product capabilities
- Conduct technical trainings for customers and field teams
- Prioritize and execute tasks independently with strong ownership and urgency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of industry experience in audio, haptics, DSP, or mixed-signal systems
- Strong hands-on experience tuning algorithms to improve system performance
- Solid understanding of physical principles (force, velocity, acceleration)
- Understanding of transducer modeling and vibration systems
- Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, Audio Precision analyzers, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
- Good understanding of digital signal processing techniques
- Proven experience debugging customer issues in real product environments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Experience supporting PC or mobile product platforms
- Background in customer-facing engineering roles (FAE / Applications Engineering)
- Passion for haptics and human-interface technologies
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-regional environments
