Summary
The Head of Production (Taiwan) is responsible for end-to-end ownership of Taiwan-based operations, with direct accountability for execution at a Tier-1 (L10) contract manufacturer.
This is a senior leadership role overseeing manufacturing, quality, supply chain, test, and delivery performance, while managing the local Taiwan operations team and serving as the primary interface between HQ and regional manufacturing partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Taiwan operations organization, including Materials, OPM, Quality, Test, and Factory Manufacturing Engineering functions.
- Own end-to-end execution across manufacturing, supply chain readiness, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Act as the senior operational representative with the Tier-1 contract manufacturer, driving daily execution and long-term capacity planning.
- Ensure manufacturing, test processes, and infrastructure meet program requirements for yield, quality, throughput, and schedule.
- Own and report production KPIs including output, WIP, yield, cycle time, and cost.
- Drive escalations, negotiate recovery plans, and ensure rapid issue closure with executive-level visibility.
- Lead NPI-to-MP transitions, ensuring readiness across materials, test, tooling, and factory resources.
- Partner with HQ on demand forecasting, capacity planning, and operational risk management.
- Provide manufacturability, test, and quality feedback into product development.
- Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide HQ with real-time operational visibility.
- Develop local leadership capability, talent retention, and organizational scalability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in thermal simulation and thermal module design.
- Hands-on experience with FloTHERM and/or ICEPAK.
- Solid understanding of thermal measurement, validation, and simulation methodology.
- Experience with cost analysis and cost reduction for thermal solutions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Intermediate English proficiency for technical communication.
Qualifications
- 20+ years of experience in system-level manufacturing operations.
- Proven track record leading end-to-end factory operations, including P&L ownership.
- Extensive experience managing Tier-1 contract manufacturers in Taiwan or broader Asia.
- Strong leadership background managing large, cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, supply chain).
- Deep expertise in lean manufacturing, yield improvement, cost optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English, with strong executive-level communication skills.
Preferred Background
- Experience with datacenter hardware, server systems, or AI compute platforms.
- Exposure to advanced packaging and system-level integration (e.g., HBM, advanced substrates).
- Leadership experience in startup or high-growth hardware environments.
