Summary
We are seeking a Senior / Lead ATE Test Engineer to join a lean, high-impact back-end engineering team.
This role is expected to operate with high autonomy, owning test program development, correlation, and production release for semiconductor products manufactured through OSAT partners.
The ideal candidate is someone very similar to the current technical lead — capable of working independently, making sound engineering judgments, and serving as a technical backbone for back-end test execution.
This is not an operator role. This position requires hands-on expertise, ownership mindset, and deep understanding of production realities.
Responsibilities
- Own ATE test program development, debug, correlation, and production release for back-end test operations.
- Serve as the primary test owner interfacing with OSAT partners across wafer sort and final test stages.
- Lead test program bring-up on Advantest V93000 (V93K) platforms, ensuring stability, yield, and scalability.
- Perform device characterization, limit optimization, correlation analysis, and yield improvement activities.
- Drive root cause analysis for test-related yield, correlation, or escape issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to align test strategy with packaging, process, and production constraints.
- Support production ramp, MP sustainment, and test program handoff with clear documentation and execution discipline.
- Act as a senior technical contributor and informal mentor, setting engineering standards by example rather than hierarchy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 5–8+ years of hands-on semiconductor back-end test experience, with clear ownership of test programs through MP.
- Strong, hands-on experience with Advantest V93000 (V93K) — this is a minimum requirement.
- Solid understanding of wafer sort and final test flows in OSAT environments.
- Proficiency in Perl and/or C/C++ for test flow control, data processing, or automation scripting.
- Experience working with probers and handlers (e.g., TSK prober, Seiko-EPSON handler).
- Familiarity with Unix / Linux-based test environments.
- Proven ability to work independently and make sound engineering decisions without heavy supervision.
- Strong communication skills in Mandarin and English for technical discussions with partners.
Qualifications
- Experience owning test release for products manufactured through external OSATs.
- Exposure to multiple ATE platforms beyond V93K (e.g., HP83K/93K, T2K, LTX, Xcerra, Credence).
- Strong understanding of production metrics such as yield, UPH, binning strategy, and cost impact.
- Prior experience acting as a technical point-of-contact rather than purely an execution role.
