Summary
Our client is seeking a Production & Material Planning Supervisor to oversee production planning and material availability for a high-volume manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for balancing customer demand, production capacity, and inventory to ensure stable manufacturing execution and reliable product delivery.
Working closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, Logistics, and other cross-functional teams, you will lead planning activities, optimize resource utilization, and drive continuous improvements across planning and material management processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop integrated production and material plans to support customer demand while optimizing manufacturing capacity and inventory performance.
- Monitor production schedules and material readiness, proactively resolving supply or capacity constraints to minimize operational disruptions.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely material availability and smooth production execution.
- Analyze demand, inventory, and production performance to improve planning accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Monitor key operational metrics and recommend actions to improve delivery performance, inventory health, and planning effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to streamline planning processes and enhance system utilization to support business growth.
- Lead and coach the planning team, ensuring clear priorities, workload balance, and effective execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
- Solid experience in production planning, materials planning, or manufacturing supply chain functions.
- Familiarity with production scheduling, inventory management, demand planning, and manufacturing operations.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a planning-related team.
- Hands-on experience using ERP or planning systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are preferred.
- Project improvement or process optimization experience will be considered an advantage.
