Responsibilities
- Audit and evaluate Contract Manufacturers’ production lines and quality systems for production readiness.
- Audit peripheral suppliers and vendors to verify compliance with VDA 6.3 standards.
- Lead all communications on root cause analysis and supplier corrective actions.
- Conduct on-site quality inspections, audits, and maintain control plans to ensure critical features are controlled throughout the assembly/production processes.
- Identify opportunities for quality control enhancements and implement new methods accordingly.
- Support the new supplier selection process by conducting audits as required.
- Collaborate with supplier leadership to enhance their capabilities for better product launches and improved quality performance.
- Coordinate calibration activities, liaising with external vendors to ensure all test and measurement equipment is calibrated before use on the manufacturing floor.
- Collaborate with external and supplier quality labs to ensure product conformance before leaving manufacturing sites.
- Identify potential risks related to the supply chain, track supplier performance, and implement preventive actions to mitigate risks.
- Assist in assessing and selecting new suppliers based on their capabilities, quality systems, and performance history.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to identify failure modes and manage countermeasures.
- Monitor design performance and address knowledge gaps in NPI (New Product Introduction) designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree holder in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related disciplines.
- 10+ years’ experience in quality leadership across manufacturing and NPI product launch.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Equivalent.
- Good knowledge of PCBA process, have experience in board level testing, PCBA quality verification, root causing.
- Familiar with FATP, including lamination, system assembly, function testing and packaging.
- Six Sigma Master Black Belt or Black Belt with working level knowledge of Lean.
- Experience in Consumer Satisfaction, APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, Stack up tolerance, SPC, Global 8D, 5Y, 5S, Project management, budgeting, MRP, Supplier Quality and Supplier relations, transit testing, product life testing, new product introduction (NPI), and manufacturing operations, team building and coaching
- Experience with new product introduction and manufacturing operations is required.
- Fluent in English.
- ODM/OEM Processes working knowledge is preferred.
- Traveling will be required.
