Our client is a significant technology company in the AI server and high-performance computing space, deeply embedded in the core of the cloud and AI infrastructure supply chain. As demand for AI servers continues to surge, they are seeking an experienced Senior PCBA Sourcing Engineer to lead PCB/PCBA supplier strategy, cost management, and sourcing activities throughout New Product Introduction (NPI) and beyond.
This role serves as the critical technical and commercial bridge between hardware engineering, supply chain, and external manufacturing partners (EMS/ODM) spanning the full product lifecycle from design through mass production, driving cost optimization, supplier risk management, and the execution of design-for-manufacturability (DFM/DFX) principles.
Responsibilities
- Own PCBA supplier strategy across the full product lifecycle from NPI design through MP sourcing management
- Lead cost optimization efforts through cost modeling, market benchmarking, and supplier negotiation
- Collaborate with engineering teams engineering teams to ensure designs meet DFX/DFM manufacturability requirements, contributing sourcing input on stack-up, impedance, and thermal design during reviews
- Identify supply chain risks (single-source, EOL, geopolitical) and implement dual-sourcing and mitigation strategies
- Align supplier capacity and materials readiness with production schedules in coordination with engineering and supply chain teams
- Ensure EMS/ODM partners meet regulatory standards (RoHS, REACH, ISO9001/14001) through ongoing supplier qualification
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 3+ years of sourcing, procurement, or supplier engineering experience within the server industry
- Hands-on sourcing experience spanning New Product Introduction (NPI), prototype phase, through mass production
- Solid working knowledge of PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes (SMT, BGA, reflow, conformal coating, AOI, ICT)
- Familiarity with high-layer-count PCBs, high-speed signal design, and server-grade component sourcing
- Knowledge of the EMS supplier ecosystem, global sourcing best practices, and cost modeling methodologies
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and cost analysis tools
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional communication skills; proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines
