Head of Finance

Summary

We are partnering with a Canadian software company to recruit a Head of Finance who will work directly with the CEO to strengthen the company’s financial management and support its next stage of growth. 

This role is suited for someone with a solid accounting foundation, practical financial management experience, and a hands-on, adaptable mindset. Key priorities include improving cash flow visibility, strengthening accounts receivable management, enhancing internal processes, and providing financial support for business decisions and fundraising activities.

Responsibilities

• Build financial models and cash flow forecasts tailored to the software business, providing visibility into the company’s financial position and supporting business decisions. 

• Improve financial management processes, including accounts receivable monitoring, collection tracking, and cash flow management. 

• Develop and enhance contract management processes to improve visibility, accountability, and operational control. 

• Evaluate existing workflows and outsourced services to identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational improvement. 

• Support the CEO in fundraising activities by preparing financial models, projections, and relevant financial information for investors. 

• Support the development of practical financial processes and infrastructure as the business grows. 

Requirements

• A solid background in accounting, finance, or financial management. 

• Strong financial modeling and cash flow management skills. 

• Experience in accounts receivable management, financial process improvement, or internal controls. 

• Experience in a software, SaaS, or technology company is highly preferred. 

• Experience in fundraising support or investor-related financial preparation is a plus. 

• Strong English communication skills and the ability to work directly with the CEO and international stakeholders. 

• A hands-on, proactive, and adaptable mindset, with the ability to work independently and respond flexibly to evolving business needs.
