Summary
We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to lead firmware system integration for next-generation imaging products. In this role, you will act as the firmware system owner, working closely with hardware teams and external development partners to deliver innovative consumer electronic products that combine digital imaging, embedded systems, and electromechanical technologies.
This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who enjoy system-level architecture, cross-functional collaboration, and solving complex integration challenges in an international environment.
Responsibilities
- Define firmware system architecture, control flow, and system behavior across multiple embedded subsystems.
- Lead firmware system integration across hardware, firmware, and mechanical teams throughout product development.
- Collaborate with external ODM/JDM partners, defining firmware specifications, reviewing deliverables, and driving technical discussions.
- Perform system bring-up, debugging, validation, and root cause analysis for hardware and firmware integration issues.
- Analyze timing-sensitive embedded systems, including imaging, display, motor control, and user interface modules.
- Use debugging tools such as UART, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers to verify system functionality.
- Develop internal technical documentation to strengthen long-term firmware ownership and system knowledge.
- Work closely with product management and cross-functional global teams to ensure successful product delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of embedded firmware development experience in consumer electronics or embedded systems.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ on MCU or embedded SoC platforms.
- Experience with embedded system architecture, firmware integration, and system debugging.
- Familiar with communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, GPIO, and storage devices (Flash, SD Card, File System).
- Hands-on experience with debugging tools including UART, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Solid understanding of hardware-software integration and embedded electronics fundamentals.
- Experience working with external ODM/JDM vendors is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of RTOS or Embedded Linux is a plus.
- Experience with imaging, camera systems, ISP, display, motors, or other electromechanical control systems is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently in cross-functional and international teams.
