Company Overview
Our client is a global technology company developing advanced AI vision and embedded imaging solutions.
The company combines edge AI, embedded computing, camera systems, and hardware-software integration to build intelligent vision products used across robotics, automation, smart devices, and other emerging applications.
As the company continues to scale its product portfolio, the Taiwan team plays a key role in bridging R&D and manufacturing, helping bring new hardware products from prototype into reliable high-volume production.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Hardware Engineer (NPI) to bridge Product Development, Validation, and Manufacturing.
In this role, you will work closely with Hardware and Software Engineering teams in Europe, as well as Contract Manufacturing partners across Asia, to transition advanced AI vision products from prototype through production ramp and mass production.
This is not a traditional manufacturing support role. You will be involved early in product development, influencing hardware design, production test strategy, manufacturability, reliability, and overall product readiness.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Hardware and Software Engineering teams to define production test architecture, test coverage, and Design for Testability (DFT).
- Review hardware schematics and provide feedback on manufacturability, testability, reliability, and production readiness.
- Define production test specifications and manufacturing requirements for new products.
- Lead NPI activities from prototype builds through engineering validation, production ramp, and mass production.
- Design and develop production test hardware, electrical test boards, and manufacturing test fixtures.
- Support both PCBA-level and system-level production testing.
- Work closely with Contract Manufacturers to resolve SMT, PCBA assembly, functional test, and system-level manufacturing issues.
- Analyze production failures and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Collaborate with R&D teams to implement robust hardware and manufacturing improvements.
- Drive production yield improvement, test efficiency, and manufacturing robustness.
- Support engineering builds, ECO implementation, production ramp-up, and manufacturing readiness reviews.
- Track key production issues and ensure timely closure across R&D and manufacturing teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in Hardware Engineering, NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Test Engineering, or Hardware Validation.
- Strong experience working across both R&D and manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with SMT, PCBA assembly, and production test development.
- Experience designing production test fixtures, electrical test boards, or manufacturing test systems.
- Strong hardware debugging, failure analysis, and root-cause-analysis capability.
- Experience working directly with Contract Manufacturers or EMS partners.
- Good cross-functional communication and project execution skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-speed digital hardware design and debugging.
- Familiarity with interfaces such as MIPI CSI, DDR / LPDDR, USB 3.x, Ethernet, or similar high-speed interfaces.
- Knowledge of Signal Integrity (SI) fundamentals.
- Experience with cameras, embedded vision, imaging products, or AI edge devices.
- Experience using Altium Designer for schematic or PCB design.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, DMMs, DC power supplies, logic analyzers, electronic loads, and function generators.
- Experience with DFM, DFT, production test coverage, and manufacturing yield improvement.
- Experience supporting products from prototype through mass production.
