A fast-growing AI startup that is looking for its first dedicated HR professional to build the People Operations function from the ground up.
Working closely with the CFO and leadership team, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how we attract, develop, reward, and retain talent across our Taiwan and US operations. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys building from scratch, influencing organizational decisions, and creating scalable people practices in a fast-growing AI startup.
Responsibilities
- Build and continuously improve the company’s performance management framework, including performance reviews, calibration, promotion processes, and career development.
- Design and maintain the company’s job architecture, including career levels, competency frameworks, and progression criteria across different business functions.
- Develop compensation structures through market benchmarking, salary band design, and benefits planning to ensure competitive and equitable people practices.
- Lead end-to-end People Operations, including onboarding, offboarding, HRIS administration, employee lifecycle management, and HR policy implementation.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and external vendors to ensure payroll administration, statutory compliance, and employee documentation are well managed across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support hiring operations by driving an efficient recruitment process and delivering an excellent candidate and onboarding experience.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on people-related initiatives while helping establish scalable HR processes as the organization continues to grow.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Generalist, HRBP, or related HR functions.
- Hands-on experience designing or improving performance management, career leveling, compensation, or total rewards programs.
- Strong knowledge of Taiwan employment practices and HR operations, with the ability to navigate cross-border HR matters.
- Experience in startup, technology, or high-growth environments is highly preferred.
- Comfortable working independently as the sole HR while partnering closely with senior leadership.
- Business-level English and Mandarin communication skills.
