Company Overview
Our client is an early-stage nanotechnology company developing advanced nanobubble generation systems for industrial and water-related applications.
The company integrates fluid, gas, electrical, and mechanical subsystems into complete hardware platforms. As the business moves from prototype development toward commercial deployment, the team is expanding its engineering capability in Taiwan and looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of product mechanical development.
Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of industrial nanobubble generation systems from prototype through production.
This role covers system-level mechanical architecture, enclosure design, fluid integration, simulation, prototype validation, supplier management, and manufacturing readiness.
You will work directly with the founding team and cross-functional engineers to turn early concepts into reliable, manufacturable, production-ready hardware.
Responsibilities
- Lead system-level mechanical design using SolidWorks, including frame, structure, enclosure, component mounting, cable routing, hose routing, and service access.
- Design outdoor-rated industrial enclosures with appropriate thermal management and IP65+ environmental protection.
- Integrate pumps, valves, regulators, flow controllers, tubing, fittings, electrical components, and other system hardware.
- Perform structural and thermal FEA to support engineering decisions.
- Perform CFD analysis for enclosure thermal management and internal flow-path optimization.
- Create and maintain 3D models, 2D engineering drawings, BOMs, tolerance stack-ups, and build documentation.
- Build and assemble prototypes hands-on and support design iterations.
- Develop and execute validation plans covering thermal, vibration, ingress protection, mechanical stress, and system reliability.
- Apply FMEA or similar methods to identify and reduce product design risks.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for mechanical issues discovered during laboratory or field testing.
- Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers in Taiwan and Asia on prototype and production builds.
- Support sourcing, quotation, lead-time management, and cost optimization for mechanical components.
- Review supplier tooling, fabrication methods, and designs for DFM / DFA.
- Coordinate design iterations, prototype build priorities, and engineering schedules.
- Collaborate with electrical, firmware, controls, and fluid-system engineers on complete system integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience developing physical hardware products from design through production.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, including complex assemblies and detailed engineering drawings.
- Hands-on experience with DFM across sheet metal, CNC machining, welding / brazing, and related manufacturing processes.
- Practical experience with structural and/or thermal FEA.
- Strong knowledge of tolerance analysis, GD&T, and stack-up calculations.
- Experience working directly with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Comfortable building, modifying, and troubleshooting physical prototypes.
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause-analysis capability.
- Good English communication skills; Mandarin is highly preferred.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10–20% to supplier facilities and pilot sites in Taiwan.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience taking a hardware product from prototype through commercial production.
- Experience designing industrial or outdoor-rated equipment.
- Familiarity with IP-rated enclosures, thermal management, sealing, and corrosion-resistant materials.
- Experience with pumps, valves, regulators, flow controllers, tubing, and fluid-handling systems.
- Experience with semiconductor process equipment, automation equipment, or industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with high-purity fluid handling or cleanroom-compatible materials.
- Injection-molding design experience.
- Experience designing equipment for humid, coastal, corrosive, or other harsh environments.
- Startup or small-team product-development experience.
