SSD product engineer

Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Product Manager / Product Engineer to lead the complete product lifecycle of high-performance SATA and PCIe SSDs. In this role, you will bridge hardware/firmware execution and manufacturing operations, collaborating with external vendors for FBGA packaging and SSD production.

You will drive critical product evaluations, defect root-cause analysis, firmware release management, and yield optimization to ensure maximum reliability and manufacturing efficiency. This position offers a high-impact platform for professionals looking to shape next-generation storage products from development to mass production.

Responsibilities

• Product Lifecycle & Manufacturing Management: Lead product development and lifecycle management for SATA and PCIe SSDs using diverse NAND Flash technologies; coordinate with OSAT and EMS partners for FBGA packaging and SSD mass production. 

• Evaluation & Testing Standards: Define, execute, and release mass production test conditions, encompassing SSD performance benchmark, reliability qualification, and system compatibility evaluations. 

• Defect & Failure Analysis (FA): Drive thorough failure analysis on defective SSDs, formulate CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action), and manage continuous quality improvement initiatives. 

• Firmware & Engineering Change Control: Oversee SSD firmware version releases, engineering change orders (ECO/ECN), and related change management workflows. 

• Yield Optimization & Analytics: Monitor production yield metrics, perform statistical data analysis, and implement yield enhancement strategies to boost manufacturing efficiency. 

• Customer Technical Support (RMA): Serve as a core technical point of contact for customer issue resolution, performing deep-dive RMA failure analysis and delivering preventive solutions. 

Requirements

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Microelectronics, or a related field, with 3+ years of hands-on experience in SSD/NAND Flash product engineering or technical product management. 

• Technical Expertise: 

• • In-depth understanding of SATA and PCIe/NVMe SSD architecture and NAND Flash technologies. 

• • Hands-on experience with SSD test setups, performance benchmarking, reliability stress tests, and system compatibility validation. 

• • Familiarity with SSD failure analysis (FA), RMA methodologies, and manufacturing change control processes. 

• Operations & Vendor Management: Proven track record in working with external OSAT/EMS vendors for FBGA packaging or SMT assembly. 

• Communication & Problem Solving: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional communication skills; fluent in English and Mandarin for technical documentation and external coordination.
