Summary
We are seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Director to oversee trade and customs governance within a highly international, multi-region operating environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring adherence to cross-border regulatory requirements while supporting efficient global operations. You will act as a strategic partner to leadership, balancing regulatory compliance with business needs, and driving a structured, scalable approach to trade-related risk management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies and frameworks related to trade and customs compliance across regions.
- Ensure alignment with international trade regulations, import/export requirements, and customs practices.
- Lead audits, internal reviews, and investigations related to customs and cross-border operations.
- Act as the key point of contact for complex customs issues, disputes, and regulatory matters.
- Monitor regulatory changes and translate them into actionable internal processes.
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on trade and customs-related topics.
- Report compliance status, risks, and insights to senior leadership.
- Build and lead a capable team to support ongoing compliance and governance needs.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in International Trade, Law, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience in trade or customs compliance within a multinational environment.
- Solid understanding of import/export regulations and cross-border operational processes.
- Experience in handling audits, investigations, or regulatory interactions.
- Proven leadership capabilities with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
